Video: Wild Belle – “Backslider”

Families collaborating has a long tradition in the music industry. So, it’s awesome to see that on top of sibling duo Wild Belle making a great pop song together, they recruited younger brother Bennet to direct the band’s new video. The video was shot over two nights and features slides from their mother’s slide collection, adding yet another familial component to this endeavor. Vocalist Elliot Bergman dances and sways in front of the projected images, at times blending into her family’s history and at others, contrasting with it starkly. The trio does an outstanding job of making a DIY production feel intentional and profound. Watch above.
