We recently posted and wrote about Dana Falconberry’s collaboration with Spoon drummer Jim Eno for a 12″ single, Public Hi-Fi Sessions No. 2, which is due out this Saturday for Record Store Day. Today, Falconberry shared “Seven Hills,” the B-side for that single. The song shares some similarities to the A-side track, “Palmless”–both utilize digitally rendered, skittering beats and entrancing vocals by the immensely talented Falconberry. “Seven Hills” delves even deeper into experimental terrain, as flickering noise and swells of bass adorn the mixture. These songs represent the most daring and austere songwriting we’ve seen from Falconberry. We saw the song performed for the first time ever at Falconberry’s recent show with White Hinterland and S. Carey, and the band did an excellent job recreating this complex sonic pallet in a live setting. Stream “Seven Hills” below. Catch Dana Falconberry out on tour in the month of May.
