Track Review: “No Hope” – The Vaccines

England’s The Vaccines are beginning to reveal details about their impending sophomore effort. It will be called The Vaccines Come of Age and will be released on September 3rd. Lead singer Justin Young has indicated that the record will be more intimate and pop leaning. For now, we have “No Hope,” the album’s first single. The song opens with a few seconds of ruckus noise that falls away to a single distorted guitar and Young’s voice, edging into twang. Unsurprisingly, the track is upbeat and full of hooks. “It’s time to come of age,” Young declares. September 3rd will undoubtedly serve as a litmus test for the maturation and growth of the band.
