With a couple of weeks until the release date for A Place to Bury Strangers’ third studio album, Worship, out June 26 on Dead Oceans, the noisy trio have released a new song for us to chew on: an impenetrable wall of sound entitled “And I’m Up.” The track is a constant barrage of distortion, but also possessed a wonderfully catchy, if dour, melody in lead singer Oliver Ackerman’s vocals. The static guitar noise acts as counterpart to Ackerman’s faraway but clear voice, somehow contrasting as well as complimenting it. The track is an intriguing mix of everything pop is and is not. Great stuff. Tour dates listed below the streamed mp3.
