Track Review: “I’ll Be Alright” – Passion Pit

Passion Pit previously released “Take A Walk” from their forthcoming LP Gossamer, and have now issued a second track from that record, which hits shelves on July 23rd. “I’ll Be Alright” features manic electronic samples, expansive synths, and insane super-fast drum loops. But it’s the 30 second breakdown at the three minute mark that really kicks ass. With its universally approachable refrain as lead singer Michael Angelakos sings, “You should go if you want to, I’ll be alriiiiiiight,” it stands a chance to be the dance hit of the year in the same way that Phoenix’s “1901” was in 2009.
