Taken by Trees, the recording project of one-time Concretes member Victoria Bergsman, will release a new album on October 2nd. Other Worlds will be issued on the Secretly Canadian imprint. The album is inspired by Bergsman’s own visit to an “other world” of sorts. The press release calls the record an “impressionist poem for the Hawaiian Islands.” The brief sounds in the trailer below are relaxed Hawaiian chords and naturalistic sound samplings. Bergsman has said the latter decision was influenced by two tracks, ‘Diamond Head’ by The Beach Boys and ‘AP Spezial’ by Augustos Pablo. The group will play Gorilla vs. Bear’s summer mini-festival on July 28.
