Django Django Announces US Release, Shares Video

Scotland’s Django Django have signed to Ribbon Music to release their self-titled album, which has already been widely praised by critics. To coincide with that news, the group has released a video for the album track “Hail Bop,” which I suppose is an intentional misspelling of the Hale-Bopp comet of late nineties fame. I’m usually pretty skeptical of anything with “bop” in the title, but comets are spacey and surreal enough to elude my doubt, and so is the new video from Django Django. Employing futuristic and simplistic computer generated images, the lush electronic and slide guitar heavy track plays out over images of a both vibrant and sterile skyscape. During the plodding intro, lead singer Vincent Neff playing the proverbial Prometheus, though (spoiler alert!) he seems to make it to the top okay. Check it out above.
