New Track: “Misshaping Introduction” – Buke and Gase

In May, duo Buke and Gase released a forceful single in the form of “Hiccup,” with its steady, plodding rhythm and singer Arone Dyer’s strong vocals. Before the band gears up for a full-length, they’ll be releasing a collection a few songs they wrote after being inspired creatively by doing a cover of New Order’s “Blue Monday” for an episode of Radiolab. The collection will be called the Function Falls EP and will be released by Brassland on September 11th. Along with the New Order cover, “Misshaping Introducton” will be one of the tracks on the the EP. The song showcases the bands ability to balance delicate melody and subtle distortion and discord. Though much less experimental, the band make sense as tourmates for Deerhoof, with whom they will share a bill during September. Buke and Gase perform at Austin’s Red 7 on October 5th.
