I’ve had some awesome experiences at ACL. Bob Dylan said “the answer is blowin’ in the wind.” Well, at ACL, so is the music sometimes. If you’re looking to avoid the sound difficulties, crowding, sweating, and hassle of ACL, East Austin has some killer shows going on during the weekend. Our pick is All Tamara’s Parties 2.0: 16 bands on two stages from 3PM until 2AM at Cheer Up Charlie’s. The bill features outstanding artists like Deep Time, The Sour Notes, Black Books, Lonesome Heroes, and the Bad Lovers. Although technically FREE, and no one will be turned away, No Play Music and Pop Press International encourage you to make a $5 donation since some of the bands are from out of town and need travelling money. Below are a few songs from several of the artists playing the show! Listen up and come out tomorrow to Cheer Up Charlie’s! More info, schedule and full band listing here.
