If we were betting men, we’d say you’re already an avid, attentive fan of Hardly Sound. Why wouldn’t you be? The series is beautifully shot, artful and nuanced, created by two of Austin’s most stalwart patrons of independent music, and features biographic information about and music from some of Austin’s best and most important bands. Still, we can’t help but remind you all again that Hardly Sound will air their third episode on November 5th at 11PM, and it will feature Royal Forest.
The episode promises to feature Royal Forest performing their song “John Denver” from 3,000 feet in the sky inside of a Cesna airplane. The song’s white-noise static, bouncing keys, and soaring distortion are a perfect soundtrack for an adventurous flight. Lead singer Cody Ground’s vocals float by in lilting fragments like a stuttering, lackadasical daydream. Traveling by air isn’t the only adventure the crew and band undertake, as they also board a train and submarine. What more could you want?
In many ways, the episode embodies everything we love about the guys at Hardly Sound—they dream big. And they find musicians who dream big. Every time we watch a promo clip, preview, or episode, we just can’t believe how amazingly talented these guys are. Take half an hour out of your busy, bustling lives and treat yourself to watching the newest episode of Hardly Sound on November 5th at 11PM. You won’t regret it, and supporting our most vital contribtors to the Austin music scene is integral to maintaining high quality products.
