“Clear Lake Strangler,” the new track from Austin’s TV Torso takes my breath away. How do they get that much sound into the mix? The acoustic strumming and distorted electric guitars are perfectly balanced, and the bouncing kick drum propels the song forward. And there’s something about the song that I just can’t place. For a second it sounds like 60s folk rock and surf-pop before that disappears as quickly as it formed and it’s full-on indie rock. “Clear Lake Strangler” sounds like the best parts of familiar rock structure with an added jolt of energy. Hear it below. This is a band to keep an ear on.
