Shugo Tokumaru creates intricate Japanese pop with orchestral, idiosyncratic flourishes. “Decorate” befits the new track released from his album In Focus? more appropriately than one can imagine. Each new instrument emerges as a smile-inducing surprise, but none so intriguing and wonderful as the accordion. The album has already been released in Japan, but Polyvinyl will be releasing the album stateside on January 22nd. Embedded above is the video for “Decorate,” which brings to life the orchestral elements in a lively circus of characters–an incredible video for an incredible song.
