Track: “Ghosts Behind” – Phone Tag

Brooklyn’s Phone Tag dropped their self-titled LP on Dutty Artz in September to nearly unanimous if limited critical acclaim. We’re just now being turned onto the group that is fronted by Gryphon Graham and includes Noah Hanlon on drums, Bodhi Landa on bass, and Eliza Walton on synth. The group’s first single from the album is “Ghosts Behind,” a track that begins with a balance of wavering twinkles and dark thumping synths. As Graham breaks into the chorus, “I’m doing my best to leave these ghosts behind,” he leaves behind the darkness and a embraces a hopeful falsetto and bright keys.
