Band Spotlight: Love Inks

Today, we’re calling attention to one of this city’s best bands–a band who has some amazing accomplishments under its belt. Love Inks has shared the stage with young, fresh acts such as YACHT and indie veterans such as Dean Wareham of Galaxie 500. The trio, comprised of Derek Brown, Kevin Dehan, and Sherry LeBlanc, has been featured by dozens of blogs and magazines including FADER, NME, and Stereogum.

Love Inks will play what we are calling the best bill of New Year’s Eve held at Cheer Up Charlie’s. The bill also features Deep Time, Hundred Visions, Sour Notes, The Laughing, Pompeii, Mirror Travel, and DJ S.I.R. Love Inks recently played Fun Fun Fun Fest and are in the process of prepping a new release for 2013. The band’s last critically acclaimed release E.S.P. was released on City Slang, a label that has worked with the likes of Ben Gibbard, Broken Social Scene, and Arcade Fire to name a few.

If you’re a live music fan and have somehow missed them so far, this is a must-see band. If you’ve seen them before, you need no convincing. We highly recommend checking out the Pop Press International and No Play Music sponsored show at Cheer Up Charlie’s on New Year’s Eve. Below you can see a video for the track “Blackeye” from Love Inks’ last album E.S.P.
