As a follow up to their recent and more experimental album Centipede Hz, Animal Collective has released a video for their new single “Apple Sauce.” The video itself is build on the experimental concepts of artist Paul Sharits and his 1968 film “N:O:T:H:I:N:G”, according to a press release from the band’s PR firm. In the video, flashes of bright color serve as a backdrop to a mouth that slowly devours a piece of fruit as pulp and juices roll down the chin. As a comparison, we’ve included an embed of excerpts from Paul Shartis’ film after the Animal Collective video. In other exciting AC news, the band has announced a tour with labelmate Dan Deacon. Full dates are below both video streams.
