Blues Control can be beautiful and delicate or thunderously distorted as they deliver their experimental brand and instrumental post-rock. What further interests me is the band’s affiliation with the renowned Drag City, who continue to put out challenging artists like Blues Control. Perhaps the most bizarre part of this show is that Blues Control’s first label was called Holy Mountain, and now the band will play Austin’s venue of the same name. You can watch the most recent video from Blues Control below. I’m hoping for some interesting projections and a captivating live show when the band performs on Saturday. Austin experimental bands Same Sac, Thousand Foot Whale Claw, and Expensive Shit open the evening.
