Show Preview: Win Tickets to Unknown Mortal Orchestra & Foxygen w/ Social Studies at Mohawk

How does one even begin to describe how awesome Wednesday Feb 20th at the Mohawk will be? My two favorite albums of the year are by Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Foxygen, and I proved it when I wrote about them here and here. (See also: Pop Press Picks) Now, the two will be sharing this bill at the Mohawk. UMO and Foxygen both create 60s leaning, 70s infused pop tunes that blend psych, pop, and occasionally funk. They’ll also be supported by Wampire, who just released a great new song in advance of a full-length.

As if this awesomeness weren’t enough, up and comers Social Studies, who released the excellent album Developer on Antenna Farm Records in November will perform indoors afterward with Ramona Falls. Social Studies produces powerful and soulful indie pop under the leadership of Natalia Rogovin and Michael Jirkovsky. If this show doesn’t sell out, then Austin music lovers must be asleep on the job. But we’ve got you covered. You can win a pair of tickets to this awesomeness by following these simple steps!

1) Sign up for our mailing list right here. (You must be signed up to win! Don’t worry, to date we’ve only sent one email to our list–we won’t bug you!)

2) RT this tweet right here! (We also love it when you follow us!)

Winners will be announced no later than Monday February 18th by email! In the mean time, jame to these three incredible songs!
