The Pacific Northwestern cities of Seattle and Portland were in the front seat of the vehicle that drove 90s alternative and indie music to new heights, which gives those cities a unique ability to still generate exciting new bands with sounds leaning in those directions. Enter Hausu, who recently signed to Sub Pop subsidiary Hardly Art Records and will be releasing Total on June 25th this summer. The first cut from that full length is “Leaning Mess,” which appropriately begins as a 90s influences track built on crunch guitars before steadily leaning the direction of the total disarray of hardcore. Stream “Leaning Mess” below from the Stereogum premiere.
