The Pastels are more like a legacy than a band. Forming in the 80s, the group’s history and status has been murky for the past several years, but in February, the band announced they would release their first official album since 1997’s Illumination. Slow Summits will be released by the band’s own label in tandem with Domino Recording Co. The band has shared, “Check My Heart,” the first single from this forthcoming album. As ever, the song embodies adorable upbeat indie-pop. If you ever liked the Pastels, “Check My Heart” won’t let you down now. We’re very excited to hear more of this long awaited record by one of the indie-pop’s prototypical groups. Stream “Check My Heart” via YouTube below.
