It has been a decade since the Baptist Generals release their debut on Sub Pop. It has also been a decade since the band toured with The Mountain Goats. I saw the two perform in Austin, Texas then in 2003, and the announcement of a string of dates NOT including Austin has me hoping a few shows get added. The Baptist generals will release their sophomore album Jackleg Devotional to the Heart on Sub Pop on May 21st as previously reported. The band already shared “The Dog That Bit You” and have released an incredibly strong second single, “Broken Glass,” earlier this week. Both tracks prove that the band will expand upon everything wonderful they did on their debut. We can’t wait to hear more from the band and hope to see them book an Austin show soon. Stream “Broken Glass” below and check out the band’s tour dates that follow.
