It seems that this year’s ACL Lineup was more heavily anticipated and produced than ever before, which only makes sense as the festival will expand to a two-weekend format for its 2013 installment. It’s still unclear exactly which artists will perform on each or both weekends, but the full schedule of bands has been released as of today.
While I am a child of the eighties who should be beside myself over Depeche Mode and The Cure, its this year’s smaller artists that have me looking forward to ACL 2013. Several have played Austin in recent months, but I’ve missed them for whatever reason. At the top of my list to see at the moment are Grimes, Purity Ring, Phosphorescent, Savages, Autre Ne Veut, and Wild Nothing. We are also excited to see local band Bobby Jealousy on the list. However, the best band on the ACL Lineup is Austin’s own Dana Falconberry. We couldn’t be more proud and excited to see this band at the festival come October.
Tickets go on sale in five minutes, so head over to the ACL site. While you shop online for your tickets, here are a few streaming tracks from some of the bands mentioned above.
