Following the dissolution of long-time band Agent Ribbons, one half of that band, Natalie Ribbons formed Tele Novella with some of Austin’s most notable musicians–Cari Palazzolo of Belaire and Jason Chronis and Matt Simon of Voxtrot. The band debuted at SXSW 2013 and have been highly active since, committing a few songs to now released recordings. As of today, the band launches an expansive tour, which includes a slew of dates in California and in the western U.S. Below you can stream two songs from the band, the upbeat and fun “No Excalibur” and the dark and buzzing “Don’t Be a Stranger.” Both songs share indie-pop sensibilities in the vein of Camera Obscura, Teenage Fanclub, or The Pastels as they are built on clean electrics and upbeat melodies. Full tour dates follow the streams.
