Spectrals will release their sophomore album Sob Story on June 18th via Slumberland Records. The album follows a slew of singles for esteemed labels such as Captured Tracks and Moshi Moshi as well as a 2011 debut album, Bad Penny, also released by Slumberland. The band is driven by the creativity of primary member Louis Jones, who is backed by brother Will on drums. The initial track to emerge from the new collection of songs is the title-track, “Sob Story,” which is built on languishing country pedal steel, gently distorted electric guitar picking, and mourning vocal delivery. “Sob Story” indeed. But it’s definitely worth wallowing in. Stream the track below.
