Electro-pop musician Somber, aka Brad Hale, creates tender pleas over beat oriented synth pop. “Love You In The Dark” recalls contemporaries such as Autre Ne Veut, but the track relies on indie-pop sensibilities and ends up sounding less raw with a hint of Death Cab for Cutie. That last point of reference makes sense for the artist who put out a split with DCFC’s guitarist Chris Walla. In fact, it’s Walla’s label Trans- Records that will release Sombear’s debut full-length Love You In The Dark on July 23rd. Stream “Love You In The Dark” via Soundcloud below.
