Mount Eerie Shares New Cut of Track from Upcoming Live LP

phil_elverumWe wrote previously about how deliriously happy we are over Mount Eerie’s upcoming album Live in Bloomington, September 30, 2011. Mount Eerie has a longstanding track record of both putting out small releases on labels other than primary songwriter Phil Elverum’s own P.W. Elverum and Sun as well as committing live performances to recording. This release, which will come out on XRA Records, merges both tendencies. However, the important news today is that a new version of “Ancient Questions” from the live record has been released. The track, which originally appeared on Wind’s Poem, gets a new arrangement with some cool xylophone and more prominent dark synths. We love it. Stream both the new and original versions below. Pre-order the live album from XRA Records here.
