I never had any doubt. Fun Fun Fun Fest always boasts what is likely the best festival lineup of the year. But I also had no idea it would be this amazing. My journalistic detachment and unbiased reporting mindset have been crippled, and I’m in full-on gush mode. I’m excited about almost every band FFF has booked. Sure, several of the artists make other festival rounds, but this assemblage cuts out any of the fluff, hot-in-the-moment bands and delivers all solid and mostly veteran and championed acts. Jurassic 5. Slayer. The Julie Ruin. Chelsea Light Moving. Johnny Marr. Bill Callahan. Daniel Johnston. Television. Television! And of course the band has completely nailed some of those artists that are still up and coming but will likely one day hold the same status as these legends: Deerhunter, The Men, Kurt Vile.
