Lake’s video for “Do You Recall?” opens up with bright colors and slowly rotating camera shots. The video’s imagery feels like 70s documentary footage, and the music serves as an apt soundtrack. We might be watching travel agent videos for the Pacific Northwest circa 1976. And none of this is a bad thing. Few bands have developed a cohesive sound and style as completely as Lake. The group evokes laid back fun and rays of sunshine with music built relaxed grooves that are almost impossible not to dance to. The video also follows a trend set forth by core band member Ashley Eriksson, who released a series of videos in which she performed songs in various parts of Olympia, WA leading up to her debut solo album. In this video Ahsley and husband and co-band member Eli appear strumming guitars in various outdoor locales. Lake will play in Austin at The Owl on October 30th. You should go, because it will be fun.
