We completely adored Hospitality’s perfectly crafted indie-pop on their eponymous debut, which is why we’re thrilled to get a preview of material that will be featured on their sophomore effort Trouble, out January 28th on Merge Records. From the brief minute or so of the trailer it sounds like the band will be deepening their sound as thumping bass and eerie synths transform into lighter piano keys all over a consistent snare. The pop is still there, but darker and more cerebral. Lead singer Amber Papini’s vocals start to come in just as the video ends and the ghost of an echo fades away. You know how to keep us wanting more, Hospitality. We’re looking forward to the first single. Watch the trailer for Trouble below.
