Hardly Art is a label I trust wholeheartedly. Their diverse yet constantly phenomenal roster of artists never ceases to impress me. So, when I first heard “Polly” by Gem Club, I thought, “Okay, sounds good, but I think I need to listen again.” As I expected, the track’s restraint and depth were much more obvious on my second take. “Polly” is that insidious kind of song that slowly works its way under your skin. Don’t dismiss it on a first listen, as a deeper pass will yield greater reward. Stream “Polly” below; In Roses is out January 28th on Hardly Art.
