When we posted two weeks ago that Hospitality had announced their second full-length, slated for a January 28th release on Merge Records, I thought it might be another couple of months before we heard the first single. But here I am two weeks later bringing you the first single, “I Miss Your Bones,” which will appear on Trouble. The song feels a little more serious and imposing than most of the band’s excellent first album. Choppy snares open the song before a sparse bass-driven chorus. The upbeat rhythms and instrumentation are still present, but there’s a somber quality to the melody as the song stretches out over four minutes into increasingly clangy guitars. “I Miss Your Bones” is a strong first showing and promises that we’ll see some new ideas from Hospitality on their second effort. We’re ready.
