Unequivocally: “Red Eyes,” the new track from The War on Drugs, is incredible. Subtle synths and awesome noodley guitar tones add depth to the song’s steady strum. Reverb-laden vocals echo, bouncing between introspective indie-rock and Springsteen-like Americana. The band will issue their new album Lost in the Dream on Secretly Canadian on March 18th. They also have an Australian and North American tour planned. However, the band, unfortunately, has not announced a date in Austin. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a SXSW appearance, although seeing as the band’s tour starts in the Northeast just after SXSW and heads south, it seems unlikely. A boy can hope though, can’t he? Listen to “Red Eyes” below.
