New Track: Miserable – “Bell Jar”

Miserable, the project of Kristina Esfandiari, former member of San Francisco-based band Whirr, has prepped a new EP for release on February 18th on Native Sound. The first single, “Bell Jar,” is noise-rock built on clangy, faraway guitars and Esfandiari’s almost-melodies. Like ethereal ghosts, flitting on the verge of manifestation, the melodies shift nearly into focus and then recede into the dark. Then, the track moves into a second, dichotomous phase of rolling floor tom and, eventually, propulsive snares. “Bell Jar” is an impressive and haunting single, and you can hear it below.
