I’ve been wanting to go to Sasquatch! for years. One of my best friends lives in Seattle and even covered the event for my first blog, Urban Pollution one year. But I’ve watched in jealousy from afar. This year is my year, and it should be your year, too. This is the first year that the festival has moved to a two weekend format, Memorial Day weekend, May 23rd-25th and 4th of July weekend, the 4th-6th. Here’s the kicker: both weekends possess completely different and amazing lineups. Here’s why you should go: the lineups are too good to miss, and the festival takes place in what is consistently hailed as the best venue in the nation for live music — The Gorge amphitheater. Weekend one boasts closers such as Outkast, The National, Queens of the Stone Age, and M.I.A. while weekend two features heavyweights such as Soundgarden, Kraftwerk, New Order, and Frank Ocean. If that’s not diverse enough for you, the festival impresses with its commitment to regional acts such as Radiation City and La Luz. Sasquatch! is a must for music fans. Get your tickets now before it’s sold out.
