Next Monday and Tuesday night, Lord Huron and Superhumanoids will take over Emo’s for a two night stint. Monday night is already SOLD OUT, but if you’re going to Neutral Milk Hotel that night, Tuesday will be perfectly filled by a trip to Emo’s. Over the past decade, the resurgence of folk rock music and its convergence with pop has been fascinating to watch as it has given rapid notoriety to a slew of new bands. Among those bands is Los Angeles based band Lord Huron, who blend the compelling rhythms of pop music with the rootsy allure of folk. The band intelligently avoids some of the affectation that comes with genre heavyweights such as Lumineers or Mumford and Sons, but fans of these bands will find a lot to like in Lord Huron–compelling song structures and convincing melodies. Superhumanoids offer airy, electronic pop that will bring the night some diversity. Below you can hear music from both of these acts. Get tickets to the show here.
