So you came out of hibernation for Neutral Milk Hotel and realized how great live music is. You love that you live in the “Live Music Capital of the World,” but secretly harbor guilt because you only go to a handful of shows a year, and hardly any of them are local bands. (No, walking by an open window on dirty 6th and catching a few notes of a folk-leaning cover band does not count.) Or maybe you just love female songwriters, upbeat garage rock, and gritty indie pop. While the latter is a much more noble reason than the secret guilt or awakening from persistent inattentiveness, we’ll take what we can get. Regardless of the reason, you should be at Lambert’s on Thursday night when Young Girls, Reservations, and Shivery Shakes play a show. The bill offers an awesome slice of diversity and provides a chance to check out some great Austin bands. You can buy tickets here, or it’s $7 at the door. Get ready for the show by streaming music from all three bands below.
