If you’re even slightly a fan of music, you’re probably aware that Arcade Fire will pass through Austin for a show this Thursday April 10th. However, you may not know that one of Arcade Fire’s member’s, Sarah Neufeld, will perform a set the night after, April 11th, at Lambert’s. If Neufeld’s music as well as Arcade Fire’s fall very loosely into a category called baroque pop, they certainly exist at poles of that descriptor. Neufeld, primarily a violinist, creates orchestral music and recently released an EP with help from Owen Pallett.
Local songstress Jana Horn’s project Reservations will open the night. Reservations’ live show has come to include much more than the songs from their debut EP, which came out almost exactly a year ago. Recently, thanks to radio program The Sad Soup, we’ve been given a glimpse at some recordings that will comprise the material for an eventual follow-up to that EP. One video containing a new song is embedded below, and Side One Track One writer Jen Leduc did a great job spotlighting Reservations in a post today. This bill at Lambert’s on Friday promises to be a solid one, and you can buy your tickets right here.
