We’ve been meaning to write about both Löwin and A. Sinclair for a while now, so what better occasion than a bill featuring both of these new acts? The show will take place at Mohawk tonight following the outside show by Future Islands. Both are recent projects born from the ashes of former incarnations. For Löwin, that’s frontwoman Sara Houser’s former membership in the Couch (which has since morphed into Otis the Destroyer). For A. Sinclair it is his former band Frank Smith. Both acts have plays some great shows around town since their inception, but these two young bands together a bill indicates something fresh and exciting. Löwin offers audiences a raucous, hard rocking set tinged with powerful melodies and driving guitar work. A. Sinclair maintains a hint of gritty twang in his solo work, but more than anything, his new songs are hard hitting indie rock tracks with flourishes of organ. If you’re going to Future Islands, stay late and check out these great local bands. If you’re not, then this an excellent option for a night of solid sounds. Check out songs by both artists below.
