Grand Cousin creates flowing pop rooted in frontman Henry Hall’s smooth vocals, which are bolstered by wavering guitars and rolling percussion. The group shares some sensibilities with Grizzly bear or early Midlake (remember them?), but possesses a cleaner, most straightforward ethos. The band has shared a new song “Oxygen,” the third single to emerge following the group’s early demos, but it remains to be seen if these songs will lead to an EP or full-length. While you wait to see this young band take form, the easy pop stylings of “Oxygen” will have to tide you over. Stream it below.
