Although the first cut from Kairos’ eponymous debut EP represented somber, minimal, vocally oriented songwriting, the second single from that release showcases a grittier side of suddenly buzzed-about Seattle musician Lena Simon, who also plays bass in surf-pop band La Luz. The new track is aptly called “Dirt & Grit” and offers yet another reason to fall in love with this new indie pop project. To celebrate the EP, Fin Records will host a release party on Monday, May 19th, at Seattle venue The Crocodile. Kairos will be joined onstage by Alex Barr (Kithkin, Deep Sea Diver), Kate Finn (Katie Kate), Ray McCoy (Charms) and Conor Sisk (Brite Futures). Keep your eyes on our site for more news on this release show later this week. Kairos’ debut EP is out on May 20th via Fin Records. Stream “Dirt & Grit” below.
