It has been too long since we heard from Bishop Allen. Or more accurately, we’ve been hearing from them, but perhaps you didn’t know it. The band has been interacting with various artistic mediums in quiet ways, namely frontman Justin Rice’s fairly active independent film acting career and scoring the films Bully and Mutual Friends. The group’s new album Lights Out, set for an August 19th release date via Dead Oceans will be their first record in five years. Today, the group shared the upbeat, buzzing indie pop track “Start Again.” The record is promised to be full of lighthearted, summer songs, and the cover art (pictured above) and first single serve as testaments to that end.
