Austin-based lo-fi quirk pop band Party Plants have released a DIY video for their song “Great Interplanetary Romance.” I’ve written before about how the band reminds me of one of my favorites, Beat Happening. This video furthers that association with its haphazard fun and DIY aesthetic. I still haven’t seen Party Plants, and I’m hoping that changes soon. Although the band keeps picking dates on which I’m unavoidably committed to some other activity, I have high hopes that I’ll be able to check out a show soon.
