Verberation View is the upcoming album from Austin indie-rock outfit Little Lo, who have shared the title track from that forthcoming effort. The record was recorded at Big Orange Studios in Austin with Stuart Sikes, who has worked with notable acts such as The White Stripes and Cat Power. In this first glimpse at the album, “Verberation View” works to achieve a sustained evenness; the slow-burning song moves through synchronistic flourishes between cymbals and vocals, vocals and keys, and the voices of Ryan McGill and Bailey Glover blend in harmony. The track subtly works into a fully realized incarnation, suddenly rousing and powerful without a harsh breaking point. There are hints of Yeah Yeah Yeahs in the song’s wavering guitar notes, but Little Lo’s brand of restrained indie rock feels fresh. The band will play Speak’s album release at Empire Control Room on July 5th. Listen to “Verberation View” below.
