The last time Austin had a visit from Phosphorescent was the 2013 installment of ACL Fest. Almost exactly a year later, the Brooklyn by way of Athens based project of primary creative force Matthew Houck will return to Austin for a somewhat surprise show at C Boy’s Heart and Soul tonight. We’ve been Phosphorescent fans since their earliest recordings and that hasn’t changed. Last year, we gave their latest effort Muchacho a glowing review and placed it high on our list of the year’s best albums, as well as recommended it on a short list of must-hear albums for a guest piece on Nerve. Tickets for tonight’s show will be $10 at the door. We’re greatly looking forward to checking out the band in such a fitting locale as C Boys, recently renovated by the owners of Continental Club after closing as dive bar Trophy’s. Below, check out Phosphorescent’s video for “Song for Zula.”
