We’ve written before that UK duo Ultimate Painting are bringing all the glory of lo-fi 60s rock of the Velvet Underground to the current day with their own mellow indie pop tracks. After previously releasing standout track “Winter In Your Heart,” the group shared new track “Ten Street” this morning. The song is built on bending, noodling high-range guitar notes and trebly strums backed by understated motorik drumming that perfectly channels Mo Tucker. As the song approaches the end, it moves into a whining, distorted guitar solo that toes the line between fuzzed out, mellow psych trip and epic shredding. The group’s self-titled, debut album will drop via Trouble In Mind Records on October 28th, and we can’t wait. Pre-order the album here; stream “Ten Street” below.
