On October 14th, Happenin Records will release the debut record from Montevallo, Alabama’s Holy Youth. Lead single “Bleached Teens” finds itself stumbling around long after the house party is over. Glistening lead guitar circles around a chugging rhythm section, like lying on your back with the spins. The vocal harmonies recall early Galaxy 500 and Yo La Tengo, and the band plays along with just enough stoned energy to reach the end of the track. Warm and gritty production compliments well with Holy Youth’s breezy indifference, turning the song into a grinning sleepwalker. The party may be over, but Holy Youth seem more than willing to hang out with you until the sun comes up. Stream the song below.
