Pop Press International Sponsors Austin Sketch Smash Thursday Night

Music may be our first love, but we’ve been proud to run several satire posts via our contributor Karen Early’s recurring column Early to the Party, right here on Pop Press International. Dipping our toes further into the comedy world, we’re proud to co-present Austin Sketch Smash, a FREE night of sketch comedy this Thursday night at Spiderhouse Ballroom where bottles will smash. The event acts as a preview to the week-long Austin Sketch Fest, which happens May 19- 24 at both Spiderhouse Ballroom and ColdTowne Theater and features acts from LA, NYC, Chicago, and more. Tickets for that available right here.

Although it may be funny, the smash in Austin Sketch Smash is no joke–the night of comedy will feature sketches in which people get bottles broken over their heads. Performing comedy troupes include Bad Example, STAG Comedy, Your Terrific Neighbors,Wink Planet, Unrepresented, Tastemakers, Jonestroch, The Hustle Show, and 2girls1pup, and many more. Doors open at 7 pm, and the show starts at 7:30 pm. Kath Barbadoro (Moontower Comedy Festival, Master Pancake Theater) will perform standup throughout the show as the host for the evening. Again, the whole night is FREE! See you Thursday!
