Day for Night Festival’s Inaugural Event in Two Weeks

In two weeks’ time, Day for Night Festival will take place in Houston, TX on December 19 & 20, featuring headliners such as Kendrick Lamar, New Order, Philip Glass Ensemble, and Death Grips among others. Brought to you by the same people who organize Free Press Summer Festival (which we love and attend annually), the festival ambitiously forays into the territory of both art and music, assembling a lineup with some of the current era’s most progressive musical artists as well as stunning visual artists.

People often maintain that artistic merit is dependent upon the listener/viewer. While this is of course true to some extent, it is still valuable to call attention to artists and performers one believes display particular artistic merit, and we’re encouraged by seeing Free Press Houston spotlight progressive artists and feature visual artists alongside world class musicians. Artists like CocoRosie, Death Grips, and BLACKIE seek to move culture forward with challenging approaches to both art mediums as well as social norms. We are excited to check out Day for Night’s inaugural event, and you should be too. Buy tickets here. Watch the artist announcement below.
