Japanese Breakfast’s debut LP, Psychopomp, dropped on April 1st via Yellow K records, bestowing unto the world an outstanding collection of shimmering pop songs. We saw the band, which is effectively the project of musician Michelle Zauner, this year at SXSW and were smitten. The video for “In Heaven,” directed by Adam Kolodny, relies on a palette of glowing neon, sparkling lights, and nighttime cityscapes to evoke the same glittering mood as the song itself. Japanese Breakfast will play The Sidewinder on July 2nd, when she will open for Mitski (who we are also digging right now). Tickets are already available. Get on it. Watch “In Heaven” below.
