The Garment District Saturates In New Video For “Feral Surfers”

The Garment District3_Photo by Greg LangelPittsburgh-based experimental electro-pop group The Garment District released a new video for “Feral Surfers,” a track from Luminous Toxin. The video was created by Thaddeus Kellstadt, a Milwaukee-based artist who likens the process to painting: “With painting I generally work my way towards a reality or a structure and keep building upon it, whereas with video I generally take apart a reality or structure.” The video is flooded with over-saturated clips of neon-bleached skaters, surfers, psychedelic color washes, and bitcrushed pastels, complimenting the slowly developing track that seems to exist behind some unknown door into a room, which upon entering, reveals a dreamlike state where the sun is too bright and you must hold your hand above the eyes, palm out and parallel to the ground below, just to get a glimpse of the surfers who catch wave after dripping wave. This is a summer soundtrack that buzzes behind the eyes. Behold:
