From the mind of Big Bill frontman Eric Braden and Austin Town Hall Records’ owner Nathan Lankford, the second installation of Slack Capital, a compilation of 27 songs from Austin bands, arrives tonight at Barracuda with a bill featuring Daniel Francis Doyle and the Dreams, Go Fever, Pataphysics, and Mom Jeans. All proceeds from sales of the 2-disc set go to SafePlace, an organization which provides resources to those affected by sexual and domestic violence. From the hazy psych-rock of Tamarron to the chill indie pop of Good Field to the elegant songwriting of Jana Horn, the compilation offers something for everyone, while you, dear reader, get to offer your support to SafePlace. It’s a win-win, so make sure to hit Barracuda tonight to grab your copy of the comp as soon as possible. The show has that Laurie Gallardo seal of approval, so you know it’ll be one to remember. Check out some tracks from Slack Capital 2 below.
